Over four million Chinese visited Japan in the first 10 months of 2015, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization’s latest data.

Japanese media reportsreport that one local company has even come out with a , inspired by the 2015 buzzword “Explosive Shopping”, the 2015 buzzword in Japan, has come out with a Chinese tourist mascot which hasand sparked widespread discussion on social media.
One travel industry expert said that Chinese travelers spent an estimated RMB75 billion (approx: US$11.7 billion) in Japan.
The latest data indicatesindicate that from July to September, Chinese visitors spent an average of RMB14,870 per person in Japan. The dailyongoing growth in Chinese visitor numbers has also given a lifeline to the once flagging Shizuoka Airport, which is approximately 175 kilometers from Tokyo.
