The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group recently announced it will launch two original brands in China and plans to quadruple the number of its hotels in China in the next four years.
“We plan to operate more than 50 hotels in China by 2019 and develop distribution channels and products while maintaining steady growth in the greater China market,” Carlson Rezidor Pacific-Asia director Thorsten Kirschke said.
In addition to its existing brands, Carlson Rezidor will also launch two original brands in the greater China region – the luxury brand Quorvus Collection and the high-end lifestyle hotel Radisson Red that will target a new generation of travelers.
Radisson Red targets Chinese travelers in the age group of 25-34 as data show that they will make up more than a third of all Chinese travelers by 2019. At the end of 2014, Carlson Rezidor already signed for the first Radisson Red hotel in Shenyang Hunnan New District, slated to open in 2016.(Translation by David)
