ChinaTravelNews - LY.com and Wanda Tourism have formed a strategic partnership to expand future cooperation in the areas of product development, procurement, brand marketing and mobile internet.
Wanda Tourism will offer LY.com brand and product marketing support with its tour agency subsidiaries. In return, LY.com will offer Wanda Tourism technical support with its PC internet and mobile device channels.
“LY.com is a strong player in the domestic online travel industry so a strategic partnership with it will vastly improve Wanda Tourism’s capabilities in brand marketing, product development and mobile net. It’s a win-win deal for both sides,” Wanda Tourism’s vice president Daoming Xu said.
LY.com CMO Heping Ma said the partnership demonstrates the synergy between offline and online companies in the O2O model. “Wanda Tourism is an up and coming player in the domestic tourism industry and has one of the strongest offline operations in the travel industry. A strategic partnership with it will enable LY.com to offer a wide array of leisure travel products to our many members,” he said.
Before the signing of this partnership agreement, LY.com had already made a 2015 strategic partnership framework agreement with Wanda Cultural Industrial Group that confirmed the development of close ties between both parties in brand marketing. LY.com also became Wanda’s biggest OTA customer when it procured millions of RMB worth of Wanda’s theme parks admission tickets and related tourism products. (Translation by David)
