Visitors from China, South Korea, and the U.S. have distinct shopping habits.

The number of inbound tourists visiting Japan’s 7-Eleven stores is increasing, not only in major cities like Tokyo and Osaka but also in regional areas such as Ehime. In 2024, sales targeting foreign visitors doubled compared to 2023. Popular items include egg sandwiches and wasabi sauce, with some stores selling over 200 packs of strawberries in a single day.

Shopping preferences vary by nationality. For tourists from South Korea, China, and the United States—three of Japan’s largest inbound markets —top-selling products differ significantly.

* South Korean tourists favor the "OHAYO Brulee" baked ice cream from OHAYO Dairy Products (Okayama City), followed by egg sandwich and natural mineral water.

* Chinese tourists prefer the "OHAYO Jersey Milk Pudding", with bottled water and milk also ranking among their top picks.

* American tourists frequently buy egg sandwich, followed by tuna mayo hand-rolled rice ball and mineral water.

Bottled water is a common best-seller across all three groups. A 7-Eleven representative explained, "Bottled water is popular in convenience stores because it's safe and convenient for travelers."
