With vaccination gradually in place, there is a better chance that quarantine could be shortened or even waived.

Travel activities may restart in Hong Kong slowly in the next three to six months, according to Dane Cheng, Executive Director at the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Mr. Cheng said during an interview with local newspaper South China Morning Post that testing and quarantine are now key to the recovery of travel.

Now with vaccination gradually in place, he said there is a better chance that the quarantine part could be shortened or even waived. "That's the whole basis of how Hong Kong and Singapore have been talking about the air travel bubble," Mr. Cheng said, "my guess is that for the next three to six months, only very slowly, certain conditional traffic will be allowed."
