As of September 30, Wyndham had more than 90 Ramada hotels in its pipeline in China. Worldwide, the company has nearly 9,000 hotels and 20 brands.

Wyndham, the largest U.S.-based hotel company in China with more than 1,400 hotels in the country, opened its 100th Ramada by Wyndham location there, the 194-room Ramada Plaza Fuxian Lake.

When Wyndham acquired the international rights to the Ramada flag in 2004, the brand had only 14 hotels in China. Since then, the company has opened Ramada hotels in Shanghai, Beijing, Xiamen and Chongqing, among others. The brand’s current footprint consists of more than 850 locations around the world.

“The increasing travel...and spending among China’s burgeoning middle class, which is expected to grow to more than 500 million people by 2022, continues to drive the need for a range of quality, value-driven accommodations throughout the country, from urban to rural destinations,” said Bob Loewen, EVP and COO, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts debuted two of its brands in China in the past year: a lifestyle Tryp by Wyndham and a midscale Wingate by Wyndham in Xian and Sanya, respectively.
