Software development company Envoy Advanced Technologies Pty Ltd has been awarded exclusive distribution rights in Australasia for the high profile HitchHiker flight product suite.
The agreement, which follows a long term working relationship on mutual clients such as online flight booking company Jetabroad, has already attracted interest from wholesalers and travel technology companies in Asia, says Envoy’s partnerships director, David Allen.
“The combination of Envoy’s specialist travel software expertise combined with the content, connectivity and pricing capabilities of HitchHiker, means that we can jointly deliver state of the art yet cost effective online solutions.”
Sydney based Envoy is currently enhancing a range of powerful loyalty, global profile and rules engines that will work seamlessly with HitchHiker and other data providers.
Matt Grieve, UK-based global sales and partnerships manager at HitchHiker, said with the company being primarily based in Europe, it had always wanted a technically strong and reliable partner with effective regional experience.
“Our new agreement with Envoy was a natural progression,” he explained. “Solutions that can now be delivered and enhanced with the added benefit of local support include extensive low-cost carrier content, flight booking applications, process automation and data management.”
Working as an independent software development company since 1992, HitchHiker has been successfully developing solutions for airlines, consolidators, online portals, travel agencies and tour operators from its offices in Frankfurt, Germany.
Allen said Envoy’s profile from building effective and powerful online solutions for the broader travel sector continued to grow, with US and European ferry operators interested in bespoke solutions such as that developed and provided to Australian company, Spirit of Tasmania.
“Envoy is providing big players in the travel industry with enterprise grade solutions at an extremely competitive price point,” said Allen “It’s very rewarding to be sought out by global players based on results we are producing out of Australia.”
As a result of the growth in its travel business, Envoy had created a dedicated travel technologies division which will drive the sale of its IT solutions into the wider Asia markets.
