Beijing-based Shiji Information Technology Co is to fork out up to RMB50 million (approx: US$8 million) in a partnership deal with Beijing hotel software developer Talent that involves acquiring the latter’s software products to link up with Shiji’s channel management provider CHINAonline and Alitrip’s hotel platform Xinyongzhu.
At the same time, Shiji Technology announced its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shiji Hong Kong, will fully acquire IT solutions Armitage Group HK. Armitage Group HK's Guangzhou-based subsidiary Guangzhou Armitage Technologies is a Chinese software developer specializing in offering property management systems (PMS) for hotel, restaurant and entertainment industries forover 20 years.
Shiji Technology and Alibaba Cloud Computing signed a strategic partnership agreement on May 13 this year to strengthen cooperation in the hotel and restaurant industries. Both partners agreed to jointly develop a cloud platform for hotels and restaurants to quickly take control of portals for the mid-range and economy level hotels and restaurants. Shiji’s latest partnership with Talent and its acquisition of the Pegasus PMS will add technical expertise and resources to bolster its partnership with Alitrip.
Pegasus is a multi-faceted hotel PMS that consolidates its product modules in each department and achieves full information interaction to offer users the most comprehensive hotel solutions. It currently services nearly 2,000 mid-range to top-range hotels and chain hotel groups with approximately 30,000 rooms across China.
Shiji Technology also recently announced it was investing 25 million euros in Austrian digital marketing company, SnapShot. It said integrating SnapShot’s products will help Shiji Technology to accelerate its domestic expansion and especially boost service to its biggest client Alitrip.(Translation by David)
