China Eastern Airlines has ventured into pilot and flight crew training after signing a deal with Canadian Aviation Electronics (CAE) to acquire a 50% stake in its subsidiary CAE Oxford Aviation Academy Melbourne.
CAE is a renowned computerized flight simulator technology company and a long-term partner of China Eastern. Its Melbourne aviation academy in Victoria, Australia, is one of their leading institutes of flight crew training with programs that cover every qualification stage including commercial pilot license, airline transport pilot license and multi-crew pilot license.
After the acquisition, China Eastern will set up a complete flight personnel training system and send flight crews in groups to the CAE Melbourne aviation academy for training.(Translation by David)
