Scottish investment management company Baillie Gifford recently increased its Ctrip equity by around one million shares. Baillie Gifford is also the second largest shareholder of Baidu.
According to Ctrip's latest shareholder report submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commision, Baillie Gifford held 2,851,910 ordinary shares in December 31 2014, a
1,023,170 share increase compared to in February 2014
Ctrips 20-F report filed in April last year showed Baillie Gifford held 1,828,740 ordinary shares,5.41% of total equity.
Ctrip increased the total amount of shares issued from 34,062,807 to 35,580,723 ordinary shares after its capital partnership with Priceline in 2014. Baillie Gifford increased its total holdings to 2,851,910 ordinary shares to up its equity stake to 8.02%.
Baillie Gifford's 1,023,170 ordinary share increase is worth US$203 million at Ctrip's January 28 NYSE trading price of US$49.52 per share.(Translation by David)
