China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) director Jin Li said it is launching the China Tourism Industry Promotion Fund in conjunction with relevant departments, financial institutions and major tourism enterprises.
“CNTA’s new jointly established fund will operate under market-driven principles to support exemplary integrated tourism projects that require intensive capital investment,” he said.
CNTA will also introduce financing and investment for distinguished tourism projects in collaboration with financial institutions like China Development Bank and China Agricultural Bank and will jointly host the “2015 China Tourism Investment and Project Forum”. “We must setup tourism funds, leverage the key role of state funding, and tap into private capital investment in each potential touristic location. Then we will use innovative fundraising methods and leverage the unique appeal of destinations. Finally we should improve the project investment information system in the areas of statistics and data,” he said.(Translation by David)
