Japan makes 2010 'MICE Year' for tourism promotion

The Japan Tourism Agency has announced 2010 as the 'MICE Year' to attract meetings, incentives, conferences or conventions, and events or exhibitions to Japan.

The Japan Tourism Agency has announced 2010 as the ´MICE Year´ to attract meetings, incentives, conferences or conventions, and events or exhibitions to Japan.

The agency is expected to announce an action programme targeted at promoting Japan as a key MICE destination.

The programme which is expected to be prepared by March 2010, is anticipated to outline the economic benefits of MICE promotion.

International conferences scheduled to take place in Japan in 2010 include Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum meetings and the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
