Hainan Airlines has carried out its second executive management reshuffle this year, six months after steel manufacturer Fangda Group Industrial got the troubled conglomerate restructured.
Wang Yingming resigned from the positions of Hainan Airlines’ legal representative, chairman, director, and other related positions due to a personnel adjustment, the Haikou, Hainan province-based carrier said in a statement yesterday. Former China Southern Airlines executive Cheng Yong will succeed Wang as new chairman and legal representative.
Cheng, 60, joined Hainan Airlines’ parent company HNA Group as vice president in May, when he left China Southern Airlines. He joined the Guangzhou-based carrier in 2004 and served as deputy general manager since 2017.
Wang, 58, who is also president and legal representative of HNA Group, took up the position after Hainan Airlines’ former chairman Liu Lu resigned for personal reasons in February.
