Royal Caribbean delays Hong Kong launch of 'cruises to nowhere'

09/22/2021| 12:14:45 PM|

The Genting Dream ship has been operating cruises to nowhere from Hong Kong for the past few weeks.

Royal Caribbean's launch of 'cruises to nowhere' out of Hong Kong has been delayed.

Due to start on 5 October, it has been pushed back to 14 October.

That means the first three short cruises are cancelled.

The delay is because Hong Kong has tightened some restrictions for foreign travellers making it difficult for some crew members to get to the ship from overseas.

"The HKSAR Government has continued to monitor the global outbreak and keep updating the travel policy and quarantine requirements for people from various regions to Hong Kong," the cruise line said.

The Spectrum of the Seas will sail three- and four-night cruises which are for fully-vaccinated HK residents only.
