The suspension does not affect existing bookings for mainland China made before the stop-sell measures were implemented.

ChinaTravelNews reported a few days ago that Expedia has temporarily closed new reservations for offerings in mainland China in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

In a reply, Catherine So, Managing Director, APAC Focus Markets, Expedia Group, commented on the move:

"In light of recent government travel advisories due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Expedia Group has temporarily suspended the ability of travelers to make new bookings for properties located in mainland China, on some points of sale, including the United States. These ‘stop sell’ measures are subject to change, and we will revisit them and adapt them as travel advice changes."

"These measures do not affect existing Expedia Group bookings for mainland China made before the stop sell measures were implemented. Travelers who have current bookings, but who decide to change their travel plans, can do this via their Expedia Group point of sale, subject to relevant terms and conditions."
