Rural tourism marketing platform Xiangyou Internet Service (Hangzhou) announced it has raised seed funding of about a million yuan led by Zhejiang Zaiyin Ecotourism Development.
The proceeds of the round will go towards boosting sales and operation teams as well as providing solutions for local government and rural tourism businesses in Zhejiang province. Xiangyou will start from Lin’an of Hangzhou City, planning to complete contact signing of 200 sharing homes in 50 villages in six months.
Xiangyou launched full-service new media marketing solutions for players in rural tourism industry, helping them adopt operation strategies featuring new media, e-commerce and integrated marketing.
The company’s brand portfolio includes: homestay video service Youyijianminsu, rural video media Nanianxiangcun, travel log video service Xiaomaochuyou, and new media e-commerce platform Xiangcunqunaerwan, according to Xiangyou’s founder and CEO Shi Ban.
The Zhejiang provincial government has proposed a tourist attraction construction scheme in 2017, aiming to transform 10,000 villages to A-level tourist villages in five years. According to statistics from Zhejiang Tourism Bureau in June 2018, 16,815 sharing homes were registered, and the figure is expected to rise to around 30,000 by 2020.
