During the first half of 2018, the civil aviation industry in China handled a traffic volume of 58.4 billion ton-kilometers and a passenger throughput of 297 million. The whole industry reported RMB 413.54 billion in total operation incomes (up 16.5%) and RMB 30.61 billion in total profits.
By the end of June 2018, there were 5,806 aircraft and 231 certified transportation airports in China.
In June, the industry registered a total turnover of 9.84 billion ton-kilometers, 12.5% more than last year and 0.4 percentage points lower than the growth rate of the previous month. Total turnover increased by 12.6% to 6.21 billion ton-kilometers on domestic routes, and 11.9% to 3.63 billion ton-kilometers on international routes.
Total turnover in the first six months grew by 13% to 58.4 billion ton-kilometers, down by 0.3 percentage points. Of which, domestic routes and international routes turned over 37.46 billion ton-kilometers and 20.94 billion ton-kilometers respectively, up by 12.4% and 14% YoY.
In June, the industry transported a total of 49.379 million passengers, an increase of 12.8% year on year, and the growth rate was up by 1.4 percentage points month on month. The traffic volume on domestic and international routes reached 44.159 million and 5.22 million, up by 11.8% and 21.5% respectively.
During the first six months of the year, China’s carriers put through some 297 million passengers, 12.4% more than the same period last year and the growth rate was 1.2 percentage points lower than the same time last year. The number of passengers on domestic routes increased by 11.9% to 265 million, and the number of passengers on international routes jumped by 16.4% to 31.125 million.
