Airbnb announced on July 6 that it would invest USD 5 million in City Home, a homestay management platform based in Beijing, China.
The platform offers selected listings, design and renovation, cleaning and maintenance, customer communication and other services to property owners and managers who share accommodation space with travelers.
Airbnb said that this will increase its supply of high-quality inventories throughout China, as well as making available more offline resources and services for Airbnb hosts, which will, in turn, help City Home acquire more accommodation sources in the country.
At present, City Home maintains operation centers in 20 domestic cities. The investment from Airbnb will go toward expanding its operation scale by adding more team members and 30 new operation offices.
“Airbnb is our major source of customer acquisition,” said Mr. Shenghu Tan, co-founder and CEO of City Home.
