36Kr reported that travel platform Zuotoujing has received an injection to the tune of tens of millions of yuan in the recently completed Pre-A round of financing. Boway Capital was the lead investor, and Zhongshuo Investment and the serial investor CSC’s crowd financing platform Yuntouhui have also participated in the financing.
Zuotoujing was established in 2015 to provide group tours and customized tours, and to offer C2C services for destinations in Tibet, Hong Kong, Bali and Japan. At present, more than 400 suppliers and over 40,000 users are registered on the platform, contributing to operating revenues of more than RMB 40 million.
With Tibet tours being the signature product, Zuotoujing’s founder and CEO believes that Tibet is appealing to tourists because of its unique resources. Data show that the number of tourists visiting Tibet has reached 84 million in 2016.
The company has long been working on Tibet-bound tours. Apart from air tickets, hotels and neighborhood products, it is also working with Lhasa Communications Industry Group in launching "Yak Bus" to provide convenient and local transportation.
