HotelsNow (“Jin Wan Shui Jiu Dian” or “今晚睡酒店”) announced on Wednesday that the company had completed another round of angel funding led by Beijing “Yi Yi Tian Shi” (“壹壹天使”) and had raised tens of millions of yuan. The company said that the money will be invested in expanding quality accommodation and destination options, upgrading personalized service for corporate travel, and leveraging “We Media” popularity by adding light social functions, online marketing and offline engagement in conjunction with “We Media”.
HotelsNow is a mobile application startup focusing on last-minute booking of high-quality hotel accommodation. The company integrates social engagements in an attempt to establish a young elite circle through the booking platform. Other than last-minute service for business travelers, the platform also offers contents including leisure tours, localized experience and local receptions, tempting people to stay at five-star hotels for just a few hundred yuan a night.
The company has begun to roll out products in 12 popular second-tier destinations in China since March this year. As well, the company has also extended options such as multi-day stays, multiple room nights and various room types in addition to last-minute booking, in response to results of earlier user surveys. The company said other practical functions will be added later on.
The company is also engaging thousands of “We Media” celebrities including Miss Tourism International, Olympic champions, K-Pop groups, minor stars and web celebrities. Hangtao Xu, founder of HotelsNow, said that users will be able to see celebrities’ lifestyle and interact with them by joining tour activities organized by the platform that will be recorded as reality shows.
