Capital Airlines plans to add three double-aisle wide-bodied A330 type aircraft to its fleet as it is about to embark on intercontinental routes with the launch of its Beijing-Helsinki service this year.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China’s Transportation Department announced Capital Airlines has applied to launch a weekly Hangzhou-Copenhagen and Beijing-Copenhagen service using A330 aircraft on September 3 and 6 respectively.
Capital Airlines currently has one of the largest and newest fleets among Chinese domestic airlines with 22 A319 aircraft and 29 A320 aircraft in its 51-plane fleet.
Capital Airlines has set up a branch in Sanya as well as overnight parking bases in Beijing, Xian, Haikou, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Lijiang and Guilin. It operates some 200 air routes from the various bases to form a comprehensive network. It carried 10 million passengers/trips in 2014 and estimates to have over 13 million passengers/trips this year.(Translation by David)
