Air ticket ecommerce giant Tempus Global has acquired travel management company (TMC) Qingdao ZX to pave the way for its entry into the Shangdong province market.
Qingdao ZX was established in January 16, 2004 as a Qingdao-based air ticket agency and has grown over the years to become the agency with the highest air transport sales in Shandong province. It has established a reputation with its excellent service and highly professional customer service staff that include English and Korean speakers, boasting a vast customer portfolio of several hundred Chinese and multinational companies, among them CREC, AEON and Pusan Bank.
Tempus Global values Qingdao ZX management team for its deep insight of the Industry and sharing similar business philosophy with Tempus Global. Tempus Global will rapidly integrate Qiangdao ZX’s local product resources with its national inventory and will consolidate Qingdao ZX’s ground service network, including its airport VIP lounges, into Tempus Global’s national subsidiaries. As a Tempus Global subsidiary, Qingdai ZX will serve as a local TMC that provides airport ground services and expands the Tempus Global brand via regional marketing.
After the acquisition, Tempus Global will inject brands, IT systems and products into Qingdao ZX aiming to attract more TMC customers with its superior national products and brand power.
Having embarked on a strategy of building a travel industry ecosystem with the acquisition of travel IT company Cncn.com in 2014, Tempus Global has been eyeing travel companies with the potential to excpand from air ticketing to travel services.
With the tourism resources and financial products of Tempus Global, Qingdao ZX can build on its strength in air ticketing and transition to become a more competitive comprehensive travel service business and open up a greater market.
Tempus Global said the acquisition is part of its 2015 plan to continue acquiring well performing businesses like Qingdao ZX to bolster its regional service capacity, implement O2O operations and strengthen customer retention. While it is actively pushing forward with its national distribution, Tempus Global is also focusing on acquisitions of related businesses such as hotel room supply management centers and innovative online companies with high traffic.(Translation by David)
