The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 list was unveiled, with Rosewood Hong Kong climbing from No. 3 in 2024 to claim the top spot, becoming the first-ever Chinese hotel to reach No. 1. The property also received the title of “Best Hotel in Asia.”
This year’s ranking spans 22 destinations across six continents, featuring 20 new entries. In addition to Rosewood Hong Kong’s historic win, three other Chinese hotels made it into the top 50.
A standout performer is the Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing, which debuted No. 14 and won the “Best New Hotel” award—marking the first mainland Chinese property to appear on the list since its launch three years ago.
Meanwhile, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong made its debut on the list at No. 41, signaling the brand’s renewed global prominence.
In July 2025, another authoritative ranking — HOTELS Magazine’s The LIST — also highlighted China’s strong presence.
At the group level, Jin Jiang International ranked No. 2, H World No. 4, and BTG Homeinns No. 9.
In total, 21 Chinese hotel groups were listed among the world’s top 50, two more than the previous year.
Together, these global rankings reflect China’s transformation from isolated breakthroughs to a powerful collective rise on the international hospitality stage.
