Canton Fair hits new milestones despite tariff tensions

European and American buyers accounted for 10.5% of all overseas attendees.

The 137th Canton Fair is being held in three phases from April 15 to May 5 in Guangzhou.

According to official figures, the export exhibition features approximately 73,000 booths, with the number of participating companies exceeding 30,000 for the first time.

As of April 8, nearly 170,000 overseas buyers had pre-registered for the Canton Fair. The regional breakdown is as follows:

* Belt and Road Initiative countries: 72%
* BRICS countries: 27.4%
* OECD member countries: 15.4%
* Middle Eastern countries: 14.3%
* RCEP member countries: 11.7%
* European and American countries: 10.5%

Flight data indicates strong recovery in international air traffic at Guangzhou and Shenzhen airports during the fair period.

Despite ongoing uncertainties stemming from U.S.-China trade tensions, the Canton Fair remains a vital platform for global sourcing, drawing buyers from around the world.
