Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific announced its first annual net profit in four years, marking a significant turnaround from the pandemic's impact.
Chairman Patrick Healy stated that 2023 was the first profitable year since 2019, with a surge in profit to USD 1.25 billion compared to a loss of USD 847 million in 2022. This profitability was driven by "significant pent-up demand for travel," resulting in high yields and a strong financial performance throughout the year.
