US overtakes China in post-pandemic tourism spending in Korea

U.S. travelers spent the most in Korea last year, powered by growing demand to experience local culture due to the rise in global popularity of Korea's entertainment industry and pop culture, data showed Tuesday. Chinese tourists took up only 15.7 percent of the total last year, down significantly from 66.5 percent in 2019.

Chinese tourists flock to Southeast Asia as overseas travel bounces back

Chinese travelers significantly increased their visits to tourist hot spots in Asia during the Chinese New Year break. Popular destinations like Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia saw visitor numbers and spending exceed pre-pandemic levels. Hotel bookings for Bangkok tripled over the period from Feb 10 to 13 year on year, while those for Singapore jumped ninefold.

The country's railways remained busy even after the end of the Spring Festival holiday, with students and migrant workers continuing to boost railway travel numbers.

Airbus says competition from China’s Comac C919 is ‘not going to rock the boat’

China’s homegrown airliner may be the latest challenger to Airbus and Boeing’s passenger jets, but an executive from Airbus said he’s not worried. The Comac C919 is “not going to rock the boat in particular,” Christian Scherer, chief executive officer of Airbus’s aircraft commercial business, said at a media roundtable on the sidelines of the Singapore Airshow.

Comac secures orders for C919 and ARJ21 from Tibet Airlines

Comac has marked its return to the Singapore air show after a four-year break by securing fresh orders for its C919 and ARJ21 aircraft from Tibet Airlines. Tibet Airlines placed firm commitments for 40 examples of the high-altitude variant of the C919, alongside 10 ARJ21 regional jets, becoming the launch customer of Comac’s variant jets.
