Ice and snow information service company Huaxue Zoo announced that it has raised RMB 30 million (around USD 4.71 million) in its A round of financing. Shenzhen Capital Group was the lead investor, and Plum Ventures and New Potential Energy Fund also participated in the investment.
In 2014, Huaxue Zoo was initially launched as a media platform in the skiing sector, accumulating a massive user base through content. In 2015, it evolved into an intermediary marketplace to connect offline business and corporate customers.
At present, the company is operating three units: iSNOW Cloud Service for Enterprises, HIGHSNOW, and ICEMINI.
HIGHSNOW and ICEMINI are designed to serve individual customers. HIGHSNOW has integrated snow resources and events to provide skiing services, and ICEMINI is a newly-launched comprehensive platform to offer ice-related services.
iSNOW, on the other hand, is an information-based Internet of Things solution for companies to upgrade ice and snow activities. It provides a complete set of support, including hardware equipment, for business operators related to ice and snow services, and it charges commission on the volume of sales.
Huaxue Zoo told 36Kr that iSNOW has so far served more than 100 ski resorts and ice rinks, and expects to provide services to 50-100 more customers in 2018, increasing the total number to 200.
