The United States will reopen to air passengers from China, India, Britain and many other European countries who have received Covid-19 vaccines in early November, the White House said Monday, rolling back tough pandemic-related travel restrictions that started early last year.

Lifting restrictions will allow tens of thousands of foreign nationals to fly to the United States. It also gives the big three air carriers, American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, a chance to recover part of their international business

In early September, U.S. airline passenger volumes for international travel were just 44 percent of the pre-pandemic levels, according to data from Airlines for America, an industry trade group.
