Grammy Award-winning American rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West performed on September 15 at Wuyuanhe Stadium in Haikou, China. The stadium, with a capacity of over 40,000, was packed.

Despite suffering significant damage from a recent typhoon, Haikou's tourism revenue was boosted by RMB 373 million (USD 53 million) thanks to the economic impact of this event, according to local tourism authorities.

Following the successful event, Haikou’s Culture and Tourism Department announced that the US pop star will hold an additional concert for September 21.

Since the announcement, local hotel prices have surged, with room rates at IHG Haikou for September 20-22 tripling in cost. All standard rooms for September 21-22 are now fully booked, leaving only a suite available at 8,500 yuan (USD 1,200) per night.
