• HostelWorld acquisition of Hostelbookers cleared by UK regulator. The deal was initially announced in April this year and referred to the Office of Fair Trading to establish if the acquisition needed to be scrutinised by the Competition Commission over concerns that uniting the pair would restrict consumer choice and hinder the wider budget accommodation marketplace.
• GTA and eRevMax have established a two-way XML connection for rate, inventory and reservation distribution. Now, hotel reservations made in GTA’s booking system can be directly accessed in hotels PMS. With this integration, now eRevMax becomes the first channel manager to establish a two-way connectivity with GTA.
