August 9th, 2011: TravelDaily (http://www.traveldaily.cn), China’s leading online publisher and event organiser focusing on distribution, marketing and technology trends in the travel and tourism industries, welcomes Amadeus as a platinum sponsor for the 2011 China Travel Distribution Summit in Guangzhou on September 21-22.

Amadeus, a leading transaction processor and provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel and tourism industry, has been a sponsor of the event since 2008 and continues to prove that its advanced technology solutions can create new opportunities, maximise revenues and increase efficiency for airlines, travel agencies and hotels in Asia.

The insightful event will explain current distribution and IT strategies and what tactics offer the best opportunity to break through the China market. How travel and tourism organisations can collaborate to enhance market share and capitalise on the bourgeoning travel and tourism industry in China, will also be discussed.

John Chapman, Vice President, Airline Group of Amadeus Asia will deliver a keynote presentation on September 21 to share industry insights on how advanced technology, including the latest mobile and airport equipment will enable improved processes for travellers, from booking to boarding. Mr. Chapman will discuss how Amadeus is working with airlines around the world to help revolutionise the traveller experience, employing tomorrow’s technology today.

John Chapman, Vice President, Airline Group of Amadeus Asia said, “Asia Pacific is the fastest growing market for air transportation globally, with estimates that the region will account for over one third of total travel spend by 2020 . This unprecedented growth will require all companies and players in the travel chain (including travel agencies, airlines and airports in China) to use technology to be more efficient and handle greater passenger volumes without increasing costs.”

“At the same time, travellers in China increasingly have alternate travel options such as new high speed rail services, which means all players involved in air transportation, especially airlines and airports, must strive to offer the best airline passenger experience,” added Chapman.

“We are delighted to have Amadeus, a global leader in travel technology with a solid understanding of the Asian market, as our platinum sponsor. We believe that they will provide a unique perspective on how the latest technology is being used around the world to enhance air travel in the region.” said Charlie Li, founder and CEO of TravelDaily. “The event will address the hottest topics in China's online travel market, demonstrate how to maximise learning and communicate opportunities for industry executives from leading companies such as Amadeus. It’s not to be missed!”

The 2011 China Travel Distribution Summit will be held at the Crowne Plaza Guangzhou Science City Hotel from September 21 to 22.
