About George Yang
George Yang is PRC native and holds a MBA of University of South Australia. Prior to joining Shiji, he was the General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu as representative of owner and hotel management company to responsible for the operations of Chengdu Shangri-La Centre include Hotel, Office Tower, Apartment and Shopping Arcade.
George Yang joined hospitality industry since 1986 with Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing and he was the pioneer management staff to open Shangri-La hotel in Changchun and Qingdao. His assignment includes General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Changchun; Shangri-La Hotel, Wuhan and Shangri-La’s flagship, Beijing Kerry Centre and Shangri-La Chengdu.
As the first homegrown PRC General Manger of Shangri-La Group, George Yang has been leading his team towards many achievements such as “Best Hotel” of Shangri-La Group, “Best Employer in China” and “Best Employer in Asia” by Hewitt Associates, Beijing Tourism Bureau’s “Outstanding Professional” and “Outstanding Company”.
