Lufthansa has formed a direct connect tie-up with Ctrip, starting with a first step of overseas products from January 1, 2017 to further provide competitive flight products.

Lufthansa Group announces a new strategic cooperation with Ctrip on direct connect. The deal between Lufthansa and Ctrip will start with a first step of overseas products from January 1, 2017, in an effort to further provide competitive flight products.

Lufthansa has been in China for 90 years and currently offers direct flights from five Chinese destinations, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Qingdao and Hong Kong to 255 destinations in 101 countries via its four European hubs of Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich and Vienna.

With the implementation of the new direct connect solution, Lufthansa is enabling Ctrip to display flights and services departing from airports outside of China and Hong Kong, including international air tickets for routes from Europe to China, within Europe, and from Europe to the Americas and Africa.

The Chinese travelers who book their flight tickets with Lufthansa including Lufthansa German Airlines, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines through Ctrip will get access to targeted offerings, improved travel technology and customer experience developments.
