Berlin-based BookingKit says it has raised a “seven-digit” Euro round from Intermedia, the investment arm of Media Union.

Germany appears to be where most of the investment action in tours and activities has come of late – as BookingKit takes a Series A funding round.

The Berlin-based company says it has raised a “seven-digit” Euro round from Intermedia, the investment arm of Media Union.

Previous seed stage investors, High Tech Grunderfonds and business angel Robert Kabs, have also participated in the round.

The company says it will use the investment to help push its growth plan forward and further develop its existing technology.

The platform has a number of elements for operators of tours and activities, including an online booking system, customer relationship management tools, and distribution into third parties such as Viator and TripAdvisor.

The round comes just a few weeks after German rival Regiondo raised a similar seven-digit round from TV personality Jochen Schweizer and others.

Switzerland-based TrekkSoft also acquired attractions software provider Myobis (another German company) for an undisclosed fee in mid-May.

BookingKit was founded by Christophe Kruse and Lukas Hempel in mid-2014.
